Despite a few legal problems with UEFA, Didier Drogba remains one of the more popular players on the planet and while on vacation, he keeps his duties as captain of the Cote d'Ivoire team, as well as his role as a UNICEF and FIFA ambassador, very close to his heart.
Already in Africa for the joint qualifiers of the next 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola and the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Drogba stayed a few more days to assist in Didier Agathe's jubilee and honor FIFA's invitation to come and watch the final of the Confederations Cup that will see Brazil and the United States fight it out.
Just before that, the African superstar awarded the trophy in yesterday's final of the African Youth Soccer Cup.
This event was organised by the African Diaspora Forum, an NGO defending the interests of immigrants from 22 different African countries relocated in South Africa. The finale of the African Youth Soccer Cup took place in Johannesburg on Saturday.
After today's final, Drogba will get on the plane to Mauritius where he will join his teammates Ashley Cole and William Gallas, as well as French midfielder Franck Ribery and Samuel Eto'o for William Agathe's jubilee.
